The cars current state. This is the real thing this time.
This is the shop that is doing the work. My family has taken cars here for just about 20 years or so. They have always done great work so I chose them as the guys for the job.
Here she is with no rear quarters, fenders, doors, interior, trunk, etc etc.
Still have to take trans and brake stuff out so they can paint the engine bay the same color as the outside of the car. As you can see on the firewall, the car used to be that tomato red color.
Little wheel well rust here to fix on the passengers side rear.
Interior shots here. Carpet still has to come out. Stock steering wheel being replaced with the "Tuff" wheel that came on Rallye versions.
Sandblasted drivers front fender. Bought from Rob's Original Charger Parts (see links page) Thanks Rob!
Block sanding the roof. Used to have vinyl top on it so there were many dents from hail and people throwing stuff on the roof. Tried to get all the dents out in highschool, but they found lots more so here, the body guys block sand the crap out of it to make it smooth and find anymore dents that may exist. That boomerang shaped window chrome (red "V" in the pic) is staying off cause the Rallye versions did not come with it. Mine were all nasty anyway.
Underside of bulge hood, sandblasted and new lip metal installed in upper part of hood. Ready for primer.

Here she comes out of the garage, half apart after a spring of disassembly.
Going to the shop!
Ahhh! Finally after two months the car is starting to look like a car! Here, the new full rear quarters get tacked into place and await full installation. Rear quarters provided by The Paddocks.
Well, no more trans or master brake booster anymore. I took that out a while ago.  While sandblasting, the guys found lots of pin holes in the firewall  Everything you see in brown primer is new metal. I had them weld up the holes for the emission control boxes and all that other crap so I could put the MSD box on the passenger far left part of the firewall.
Here is the roof, completly block sanded and ready for final prep before paint. The guy who did it spent literaly all day just hand sanding the roof to perfection. He did a great job on it too!
Couple of more recent interior pics here. Still have the mirror dice.
COOL! The guys put the car back together from front to back so they could line up the rear quarters correctly with all the other body lines. The car is primed in pail yellow Polyeurthane primer and dusted with black spray paint so when they block sand it any low spots will show. They block sanded the whole car about 4 times I believe.
Perfect gap in the door.
No more wheel well rust!
SCORE! They started painting the car last week so I had to go get some pics.  They took the car back apart to paint inside the fenders and the door jams then put it back together.  The car itself is still in the pail yellow Polyeurthane primer waiting for FC7 In-Violet  metallic paint!
